Sabina Vujovic, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in the Miller Center in St. John’s, after a brief and very difficult battle with cancer. Her family mourns her loss heavily, and is touched by the outpouring of support from friends and coworkers. Leaving to mourn her are her loving husband Dragan Vujovic and daughters Sejla Vujovic and Dijana Hemeon. Also mourning are son-in-law Sean Hemeon and granddaughter Alexa Hemeon, mother Munevera Hodzic, sister Jasminka Haskovic and brother-in-law Ismet Haskovic, and niece and nephew Nermina and Irfan Haskovic. She is predeceased by her father Resad Hodzic.
Sabina was a LPN at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for 15 years, providing care for countless families and senior citizens. She loved her job and coworkers, whom she was extremely close to and formed great friendships with.
Sabina was the most devoted wife and mother anyone could ever ask for. Losing Sabina has been a painful experience for everyone who knew her, but the circle of support she had was large and very involved, and her family wants to express their deepest gratitude. Sabina does not want us to mourn her passing; she would rather us celebrate her life. Her remains will stay with her family, and be partially scattered in her birth place of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Family will be greeting anyone who wishes to pay their respects at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, January 20th, and Sunday January 21st, between 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Thank you from the Vujovic family to everyone who supported us.

I am so so sorry to hear of Sabina’s passing. I went to Practical Nursing school with her. She was so awesome, she was so kind hearted, caring and friendly. I have so many memories of her telling beautiful stories of her children, and her husband. She truly loved her family. I have never worked with her, but I can only imagine she was a beautiful and caring Nurse to all her patients.

I am so very sorry to hear of Sabina’s passing. I wish to extend my most sincere and heart felt condolences to her family. I had the honour of working with her at St. Pat’s for 3 years. Sabina was such a lovely person. Always smiling and laughing. We talked a lot when we worked nights together. She would always tell stories of when she was young, how much she loved reading and how proud she was of her two girls. She loved you both very much. I could listen to her for hours. She had such a kind and beautiful heart. I will miss her terribly. Rest in peace my beautiful friend.
