Sadie Thorne

It is with great sadness that the family of Sadie Thorne announces her sudden passing at the age of 75 at her home in St. John’s, NL where she resided for the past 45 years, on Sunday April 10, 2022.

With fond and loving memories Sadie leaves to mourn her husband Robert of 23 years; daughters Christine Roberts (John) of Hermitage, Jane Pierce (Keith) of Hr. Breton, and brother Fred Strickland (Jeanette) of St. John’s; her grandchildren Martha, Mandy, Johnny, and Gavin; great-grandchildren Jonah, Jasmine, Lucas, Nathan, and Danica; brother-in-law Dave (Barb) and three sisters-in-law Carol, Linda and Mildred; special niece Laura and long-time friend Emma, her husband Levi and little girl Jada of St. John’s.  Sadie will also be remembered by a large circle of extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her mother Bertha and father Simeon; sister Margaret Snook; brother-in-law Arch, and life-long friend Marggie Cox.

Family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday, April 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 14.
