Obituary
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Hospital on July 28, 2023, Samuel Mitchell Aged 88 years of Portugal Cove, St. Phillip’s.
Left behind with fond and loving memories are two sisters: Ethel Earle (Alex) and Esther Garland, one brother Leslie Mitchell, one sister-in-law Carol McDonald, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the paramedics, the doctors and the nurses of 7 West for their care and compassion over the past few days.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Memorial United Church in Portugal Cove.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will be on Monday July 31, 2023, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service from Memorial United Church, Portugal Cove, on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 11:00am with internment at The United Church Cemetery on Bauline Line to follow.
Please note that Carnell’s Funeral Home is a nut free building, due to a staff member with a severe allergy. Thank you for your cooperation.

Though we haven’t seen Sam in many years, we remember him fondly from his time working with my dad at the farm. Prayers and love to his family.
