Scott "Scottie" Jeffrey Thornhill

July 13, 1966 to February 20, 2024

Obituary

With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Scott Jeffrey “Scottie” Thornhill. Scottie passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, at the age of 57.

Scottie was predeceased by his parents Winnie and Archie Thornhill who spent a lifetime showering him with love and devotion.

Leaving to mourn and remember him with love are his Bub, Sheldon Thornhill (Thelma); his Sissy, Dorothy Thornhill; nieces Kimberley Loder (Keith) and Christina Baker (Brian) and nephew Todd Thornhill (Albert); great-nieces Alexandra and Jordan; great-nephew Jacob; plus a circle of extended family who loved him as we all did.

Scottie touched the hearts of all who met him. He was a kind and gentle soul with a ready smile and a great sense of humour. He found joy in music and sports (especially hockey and wrestling) and enjoyed having a dance or two given the chance.

Scottie loved us as deeply as we loved him and never missed the opportunity to tell us so. We all feel grateful and blessed to have had him in our lives, his loss is deeply felt.

In Scottie’s memory, donations can be made to the Down Syndrome Society of NL.

A service of committal will take place on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Columbarium in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
