Terry Clarke

July 24, 1965 to April 17, 2024

Obituary

In loving memory of Terry Clarke, who at the age of 58 passed peacefully in his home on April 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Terry was an easy-going and loving man who’s greatest joys in life came with spending time with friends and family that meant the world to him.

Predeceased by his father Donald Clarke and brother-in-law Bill Sansom and leaving to mourn his wife Michelle; son Matthew (Nicole); grandson Thomas; mother Gladys; four brothers Paul (Rhonda), Chris (Michelle), Gary (Eileen), and Glen; and two Sisters Nancy (Jim) and Sharon; special sister and brother in-law Lib and Peter and their children Stephen, Leah, and Krista; and special sister in-law Lori and her sons Liam and Sean; and many other nieces and nephews; also, special mother in-law Jean (Mel); special friends Karen and Wayne and their sons Taylor and Travis; and special friends Scotty, Gerard, and Ronnie.

Terry was a soft-hearted man who made everyone in his life feel loved each time they were together. He treasured time talking and telling stories with those he loved; cooking and barbequing; and powerlifting. Ever defying odds throughout his battle with cancer, Terry continuously showed strength and resilience and worried more about those around him then himself. He was and will continue to be an inspiration to those who loved him.

He leaves behind many beautiful memories and his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were lucky to have had him in their lives.

We would like to thank Dr Thava and Dr. Armstrong; Dr. Louise Rogers, April Adams, and all the staff at the Palliative Care Unit; and the community paramedic team for their care, kindness, and support.

Special acknowledgement to his brother Paul and sister in-law Rhonda who supported him and his wife during his final days.

The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday April 27 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Sunday April 28 at 2 p.m.

In leu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Terry, thank you for the love and memories that we will cherish forever. We love you.

I met Terry at Gold’s Gym . He would come in with his brother Paul and friend Scotty. He always took the time to ask how were things going and to give any tips he could on lifting. He made everyone feel at ease and went out of his way to see to that. A true gentleman. Although I had not seen him in years ,everytime I go to the gym I can’t help but think of him and his crew. Rest in peace Terry.

So sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. I knew Terry for over 30 years, from the gym and the downtown days. Always a great guy and it was nice to occasionally run into him in the later years. I’m sure he was warmly welcomed on the other side by Rob, Vince and Junior. Some great friends reunited. Rest In Peace.

To Terry’s wife and son and the Clarke Family- great picture of Terry and that smile. There were very few times that I saw Terry that he did not bring about a laugh.
I’m so sorry to hear that Terry has passed on. Met Terry back when we went to IJ. Boy was he a character that provided lots of situations of laughter. to the crowd. From playing soccer every dinner hour, to making me laugh in the classroom, by imitating the teachers we had, Terry was a pleasure to hang out with and call a friend back in the day. To this day, I will always go back to those days and have a laugh. Thanks for the memories Terry and till we meet again, RIP.
