Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Joyce Cecilia Crant – a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Vera passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on November 4th, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her son Paul Crant. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of memories are her husband Adolph Crant; sons Chris Crant (Dawn) and Jeffrey Crant (Lisa Johnson); sisters Hazel Pope and Marion Bussey; grandchildren Ryan Crant, Kathleen Comeau (Jared), Sophia Truscott, and Julius Crant; as well as a wide circle of relatives and friends around the world. Special thanks to the hospital staff at St. Clare’s, the staff of Carnell’s Funeral Home, and to Majors Darryl & Cathy Simms. Visitation will be held from Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 from 3:00PM-7:00PM. A funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at 2:00PM with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the School Lunch Association.

To all family and friends of Vera; especially Dolph, Jeff, Chris, and their partners and children, and Sophia and Julius. She was beautiful to look at, beautiful to talk to; a kind, gentle, warm, spirit. She was creative, smart, wise, talented, and accepting. She had her own personal style…always dressed fashionably, looking elegant but down- to- earth at the same time. She had depth. She deeply loved. She will be deeply missed.
