Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Victor “Eric” Stanley on August 5th, 2021, at St. Clare’s Hospital. At the age of 75, he passed away from a short illness. Born, and lived his life in Kilbride, he was married to Daphne (nee Peddle) who pre-deceased him in 2006.

Leaving to celebrate Eric’s life and mourn his passing are his daughter Bonnie Birmingham (Jeff), son Darin & granddaughter Rachel Tessier (Stuart Cooper). Eric had many siblings and in-laws on the Stanley side of his family, as well as those on the Peddle side. He will also be missed by special friends Bob and Shirley Care, Tom and Judy Kennedy, Bridie, and Olive. Our family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Iqbal, the nurses, and staff of the 7th floor East at St. Clare’s for taking care of our dad in his final days.

As per dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice. A visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, August 9th from 2PM-5PM and 7PM-9PM. A funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 10th at 10AM with interment to follow at St. Matthews Cemetery, Ruby Line.

Sending our condolences to Bonnie, Darin and families and Olive. We’re very saddened at the loss of your dear Dad (Eric). Hoping you’ll find comfort in all your loving memories. Eric was a longtime friend since 1966 when we both started working at Pratts. Our friendship lasted even though we moved to Ontario 35 years ago. We visited on our trips home (most of the time surprising him) catching up and having laughs over days gone by. He was a sweet, kind, gentleman who’ll be forever in our hearts.
“Rest Easy and in Peace Dear Friend”
