Vincent Gregory Power

Vincent Gregory Power, age 59 passed away peacefully on August 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Vincent is reunited in heaven with his beloved parents, Peter and Jane Power; stepfather, Herb Mitchell; and his brother, David.

Leaving to mourn the love of his life, Mary Woodfine, whom he loved more than all the stars in the sky; His three beautiful daughters, Nicole Forrester (Kyle); Vanessa Kavanagh (Danny); Mary Mackey (Jordan) and his dearly loved grandchildren, Caleigh, Charlie, Avery, Hayden, Hudson, Rebecca and Emily; as well as his many siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Vince was strong willed and determined from the start, always refusing to go to school, instead choosing to spend his time doing the things he loved such as fishing, exploring the woods and always working with his hands, from building forts, repairing cars and eventually building a tree house for his grandkids. This strong will and determination stayed with him until the very end where he fought as hard as he could until the Lord finally called him home.

Vince will always be remembered as a kind, generous, hardworking man who loved his family, animals, and nature. He will be greatly missed and loved always.

A special thanks to the palliative care staff at Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre who provided Vince and his family great care, kindness and compassion during his final days.

Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 23 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Michael’s Church, Flatrock on Wednesday, August 24 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line, Torbay.

Flowers are welcomed or donations in Vince’s Memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
