Wilfred Allan Budden, age 85, passed peacefully away on February 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Pleasantview Towers, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Pre-deceased by his parents, Allan and Annie, brothers Pleman and Cecil, sisters Margaret, Ellen and Elsie, in-laws Stanley and Sybil Gill, Robert Gill and Annie Norris.

Leaving to mourn his wife of 58 years Kezie, son Brian (Florence), daughter Nancy (Barry), one precious grandchild Lindsay (David), brother Lester (Marion), many nieces and nephews, special neighbours Eugene and Joan Randell and a large circle of friends.

Wilf was born in Horwood and moved to the Church of England orphanage in May 1952, with his brother Lester and left in May 1957.  He spent 41 years working at James G. Crawford Ltd. and retired in 1998.  He was a person of faith who devoted many hours to St. Thomas’ Anglican Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a friend to all.

Special thanks to Dad’s caregivers from TLC Nursing and Homecare Services, doctors, nurses and staff of HSC Emergency, 4NA and 4NB, staff at 3SW at Pleasantview Towers and Treena Snook NP from the Home Dementia Program for their care and compassion during Dad’s illness.

Visitation is Thursday 2:00-9:00 and Friday 2:00-9:00 at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road.  Cremation to follow.  Funeral service to take place from St. Thomas’ Anglican Church at 11:00 on Saturday, March 2, 2024.  Reception after the service.  Inurnment at 1:00 at the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road.

No flowers by request.  Donations may be made to St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice.

Brian, Nancy, and Mrs. Budden: sending heartfelt condolences to you and the entire family as you mourn Mr. Budden’s passing and celebrate his life. I have fond memories of him (and all of you) at St. Thomas’ when I was younger. His huge smile shall not soon be forgotten. Sending best wishes to you and your families now and always. I’m so sorry to hear of Mr Budden passing. It was a pleasure to help you out in the store on Smith Ave during my lunch break from Bishop Abraham, while you ran over to pick Nancy up from school. Then you feed me Kraft Dinner before I went back to school.
I fondly remember you coming to the Pink Poodle for supper with Mr and Mrs George. I was telling you I was getting married and looking for an apartment. Mike and I were only to happy to rent yours on Larkhall St. You both were always so kind to us. Sending you all my deepest condolences.

Kezie, I’m so sorry to read of Wilf’s passing. We go back a LONG way and it seems we’ve lost touch in recent years. I think of you lots of times and don’t do anything about it. Maybe we can at least chat in the not too distant future. Hang onto those memories of your years together.
