BiILL’S FAMILY: So many memories for us of Bill Rogers and Dave’s sister Nance. They came to our house quite often, usually at 4:00 in the evening, “now are you ready”….it is dance time of course…always where Lloyd Snow, Dave Pike, Bob Hiscock, Ronnie Rose was playing. From Bellevue Beach to The Seaview, Spaniards Bay, Kellys and The Mariner in Bay Roberts. Further back in the day it would Picketts Lounge, Salmon River and Traverse Brook Lounge. They were always the first to hit the dance floor, he made sure he had a dance with everyone. In and around St. Johns, he introduced me and Dave to Mother Gosses, The Riviera, The Station Lounge…..we didn’t mind cause we were his designated Driver. Many years we would go Raspberry picking in Goulds by the old Fire station…Bill loved his cooked Dinner and always had a nap right after. We enjoyed trips with them to Port Union and Catalina, one night we stayed at the Seaview in Port Union, one bed in the room, me N Dave tried to sleep on the floor…no sleep he snored the paint right off the walls, oh my. They loved going for drives, stopping for a feed, I had to be sly to pay for it. A very generous man for sure. He loved Moose Hunting. He and Nance always bottled moose for the winter and generously shared it all…He always made sure they had their fish for the winter making an annual trip to Fair Haven for his salt fish. In later years, Bill and Nance got a camper, and explored all parts of this beautiful province including Labrador. Many new friends and memories. And now there is one more tidbit to share pretty sure most of you have seen the famous picture, hanging on the walls in most of our homes, it is called ~~ “RESETTLEMENT”~~the one towing the house, with two boats, three children on the shoreline looking at the house being towed…well, our Bill Rogers is in that boat, as our Bill Rogers came from Silver Fox Island to settle in Dover NL. Me N Dave will continue to remember you Bill, as we look at that famous picture every day sitting at our dining room table. Lastly, we are so privileged to have been with his family when he passed, ever so peacefully, R.I.P. dear friend and Brother in Law~~~Me N Dave~~~Dave and Ellen Pickett, Conception Harbour

Ellen, Dave and all Bill’s family, condolences, thoughts and prayers. We always looked forward to seeing Bill at Smallwood Park. He was always so friendly and always with a smile on his face. RIP Bill
